So for those who want to get back into spinning vinyl (and you all should), here's my recommendation for what to buy: the Rega P1. Comes complete with cartridge (aka "needle"), ready to play within a couple minutes of unboxing. Cost = $350. Rega is a legend in the turntable business (I own their P25 turntable). I'd trust any 'table they made.
For those who prefer color, however, it's worth considering the Pro-Ject Debut III ($329), which comes in a variety of vivid colors (I like candy apple red). It requires a bit more set up, but is also well-regarded by audiophiles.
