wine tasting: Scotch!

wine tasting: Scotch!
Cindy says:

We made our way through 20 scotches this year, and everyone was still standing at the end of the night. Bravo! The clear winner was the Signatory Vintage 1979, brought by Jose Luis with help from Drew. So sad that the distillery is closed.

Thanks again to Drew for helping to pick the scotches and for teaching us about them, even as several of us (i.e. me) were clearly getting too drunk to really retain anything.

Clear Winner

Signatory Vintage 1979 (no. 15)

Well-Loved

Bruichladdich WMD II (1991) (no. 7)
Lagavulin 16 year (no. 9)
McCarthy's from Oregon, a surprise hit (no. 17)

Loved-Well
Johnny Walker Blue Label (no.3) - even the snobs agreed
Bowmore 15 year (no. 5)
Ardberg 10 year (no. 10)
Black Addre - Longmorn 30 year (no. 18)

Just fine
Balvenie 12 year (no. 6)
Edradour (no. 8) - my surprise find
Compass Box Peat Monster (no. 11)
Glenfiddich 15 year (no. 14)
MacCallan Cask Strength (no. 16)
Stillwater Spirits Single Malt Vodka (no. 1) although I must admit that the single vote this received was from an affirmed wine lover who doesn't really like scotch, right Simone?

Also Ran
Laphroig 2000 (no. 2)
Bruichladdich 10 year (no. 20)
Glenmorangie 10 (no. 4)
Glenfiddich 15 year (no. 14)
Chivas (no. 13)

Once again, you warmed by heart because no one chose the Chivas. Although I do think the Laphroig 2000 and Bruichladdich 10 year were just overlooked.
