Live Music Q2 2016

Courtney Barnett at Coachella 2016

Twenty-five shows in six months (counting each day of multi-day festivals as one show). For the first time in at least 10 years, I've had a feeling of live music exhaustion. Fortunately, the next three months should slow down a bit, musically speaking. But I've already bought October tickets for   GoGo Penguin, Puddles Pity Party, and the Treasure Island Music Festival (because James Blake)!

Most memorable highlights in bold.
  • Coachella (Day One): LCD Soundsystem, Lemaitre, Parov Stelar, Savages, Sufjan Stevens, St. Germain, 2manydjs, Christine and the Queens, Bob Moses, Robert DeLong, Goldroom
  • Coachella (Day Two): Grimes, Rufus Du Sol, Ice Cube, Courtney Barnett, Bat for Lashes, Run the Jewels, SOPHIE, Chronixx
  • Coachella (Day Three): Death Grips, Sia, Anderson.Paak & the Free Nationals, Despacio, Crystal Fighters, Autolux, Wolf Alice, Joywave, Kamasi Washington
  • GoGo Penguin
  • SF Symphony
  • Keith Jarrett
  • Alexander String Quartet
  • Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop
  • Hadestown (Anais Mitchell's great musical adaptation of the Orpheus story)
  • Kaki King
