Two white varietals that have very little in common, other than their relative obscurity (at least compared to Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc). Consensus favorites were #3 and #4, as well as the dessert wine that we ended with (lychee, lychee, lychee!). Ran a little short this time -- sorry about that! - 2005 Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Löss $14.99: crisp, hint of complexity, a good value
- 2005 Schloss Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner "Steinsetz" $21.99: nice, but falls short of #3 at the same price
