Richard Thompson, Sweet Warrior

Richard Thompson's new album, Sweet Warrior, is great. I just thought you all should know. Go buy it (Amazon link).

Or, if you're done with buying "albums," buy the following songs, which are all stand outs not just for RT, but for the year: Dad's Gonna Kill Me (about soldiers in (Bag)Dad), Sunset Song, Guns Are the Tongues, Too Late to Come Fishing, Needle and Thread, I'll Never Give It Up (which sounds to me like it's about an online troll).

Like only a few other singer-songwriters, RT is proving that he's still writing his best material, that it's not all just about nostalgic performances of his "classics," 1952 Vincent Black Lightning and Beeswing (which are probably the songs he's most famous for, and deservedly so). Everyone who wasted their money on the Police reunion tour should have gone to see RT.
