A very busy end of the year has pushed my total number of live music events to 38. That easily meets and surpasses my annual "not-dead-yet" target of 26.
There were some big ones that I missed, however, topped by Arcade Fire. I have a feeling that's going to be a durable regret. The highlight of the season has to be the incredible Bach Collegium Japan, conducted by its founder, Masaki Suzuki, playing Bach's Christmas Oratorio. Transcendent. Close seconds were Iron & Wine and James Blake.
